I completely agree that we are taught results and outputs of what others have already done. While this important, the most vital part of science education is developing a scientific mindset, which includes motivation, perseverance, patience, grit, etc. Learning how to get results in a scientific way is far more crucial than the results itself, at least when it comes to science education.
